Senator Craig Represents…
“Craig pleaded guilty in August to a charge of disorderly conduct following his arrest in a men’s room at the Minneapolis airport. He has since recanted his guilty plea, and said on Tuesday he did nothing wrong.” - Forbes
The GOP has called for his resignation, which is another blow to the troubled Republican party. Where have ethics in politics gone???
Lets discuss the issue and hear your thoughts on ethics and behavior in the political world…

Well at least he was not going after pages. Even better, at least the DCCC didn't know about it for close to a year and despite putting kids at risk, kept it under their hat for huge political gain (sounds better than trying to ignore it to avoid embarrassment)
Listening to the radio on my drive home last night they discussed the various understood signals for gay men and anonymous sex in bathrooms; some professor has identified 9,000 such locations in the U.S.. One of them is tapping your toe; I've tapped my toe while in a stall and I resent that this activity has been taken hostage by this miscreant activity. I wonder how good a pols judgment is knowing full well that they operate in the public eye, yet cannot control themselves when it comes to something like this. Bottom line, it was a stupid move and please don't try to tell me you copped a plea, yada, yada, yada.
Great post
His actions fall outside the sphere of politics. He's human and what he does in his own life (as long as it is not illegal) is his own business. His recant of the whole situation is disappointing, but must be more harmful to his mental well being than the Republican party. The only reason it damages the Republican party is because Republican's have an heir of superiority regarding "moral" issues. Although sexual orientation (other than the abuse of minors) has nothing to do with morals, but current Republicans link the two and thus put themselves in a poor situation. The Republican party associates their politics with Condemning normal human behavior will get them nowhere. Homosexuality is rampant throughout nature and can be tracked throughout human history. Taking it up as a political issue is begging to look foolish in the end. Political parties should focus on making the country better rather than condemning normalcy. Let people live their lives as they wish as long as it does not harm others.
Unfortunate for everyone involved, even those of us not directly involved — his fellow Republicans. Most assuredly, the Dems will take this ball and run with it to try prove that us Repubs are bible-quoting, hard-hearted hypocrites.
Listening to the entire police interview tape that was released, Mrs. Warning and I could only look at eachother and shake our heads. Unfortunately for Craig, he got "caught with his pants down" (and his legs spread wide - so his pants wouldn't slide down). The more he tried to clarify his situation, the worse it got for him.
Your take on the interview tape is interesting, funny how hearing it helps us make up our own minds, kind of like what we'd be able to do if the msm just reported the news. I heard the recording on Hannity's radio show yesterday and enjoyed his take on it that many were dumping on him for. If you didn't listen he most assuredly leaned toward a Craig double life, but he also was questioning the strength of the case the police had, etc. Pretty interesting when thought about that way.
I found this site while looking for blogs to add to my 'Blog Day 2007' post. I love the concept and it was one of the five blogs I included in the post. Nice job on the blog, it is refreshing to have a viewpoint like this out there on the web. My favorite part of the audio tape was the police officer throwing him under the bus at the end. "You are a US Senator…people vote for you." or something like that. I almost felt sorry for Craig at that point…almost. That police officer probably won't ever vote again.

Republican Party has proven it is not hypocritical by the fact that they did pressure him out of office. Imagine if he'd have been a Dem? Then the story would have been brushed under the rug, opponents would be chastised for not being sensitive to his sexual preference, and he would have won his next election.
Where has the right to do anything without getting arrest for it gone? What he did shouldn't have been illegal. There is vice and bad judgment, and then there are crimes that hurt people. The cops have waaaay too much power.
So now he's thinking about un-resigning lol. He is even thinking about trying to reverse his guilty plea. Looks like Brittany and Lindsey have some new competition. My prediction is they will unite and best this attack on their gossip mag turf.
