Though this be madness, yet there is method in’t
In coming to terms with the tragedy that has befallen Virginia Tech, I don’t know how to express the sense of sorrow that I feel for the families and friends of those who were shot down yesterday. Many of us, who contribute to this site are recent college graduates ourselves, and we can only ponder amongst ourselves how we’d have dealt with a situation if it happened on our campus(s).
As more and more information becomes available, it is my hope that a civilized national debate is sparked that will speak to the components that led to this tragedy.
As Polonius said in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”, “Though this be madness, yet there is method in’t” - although we don’t fully understand yet the method of the killer’s madness, our great challenge will be to methodically debate the madness that has occurred.
My prayers and my thoughts go to the families of the victims, and to all the students of Virginia Tech.

I don’t know that a debate will be necessary in the coming weeks. I am reserving judgment until I see the full information from the investigation. The families of the victims are in my prayers. I hope we as a nation can keep them in our prayers and not turn this into a political prop.
There is real evil in the world and sometimes it rears its ugly head.

I am in agreement with Andy, however, I don\'t know that if you feel some type of debate is necessary that perhaps we can discuss/debate.
Get the debate started in the near future and we\'ll see where it goes from there.
I just created a thread in the forum regarding this issue: http://politicalgrind.com/forum?forum=9&topic...
